A Welcome From Affinity Counseling Group
Hello! I'm Ciara Braun, MA LPC NCC CST and I would like to welcome you to my website and to my counseling and therapy practice. I am an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, licensed professional counselor and national certified counselor offering couples counseling, sex therapy, individual therapy and consultation in Birmingham and Rochester Hills Michigan and the suburbs of Oakland County.
For the past decade, I have had the privilege and joy of helping couples and adults work through difficult relationship situations including infidelity and divorce recovery, conflict and communication difficulties, intimacy and sexual concerns, as well as anxiety and depression to become better partners, recover from trauma and emotional abuse, feel happier, more confident, and better about themselves: as people, partners, and as professionals. I look forward to working with you and helping you realize your individual and relationship potential.
Couples and Relationships
Relationship therapy isn't only for couples: it can also be useful for individuals who are seeking a partner, currently dating, or those who are unsure they have found "the one" and looking for some insight into their romantic life. You may struggle with affection, communication, unresolved conflict, or stress with your partner. Relationship therapy can help you to discover factors that lead to negative romantic patterns and develop skills to communicate more effectively, repair trust, or understand each other's emotional and physical needs. Couples therapy and individual options are available.

Intimacy and Sex Therapy
Sex is one of the most exciting, intimate connections we can share with another. Yet many experience sex as a source of frustration or shame, instead of joy. Are you struggling with desire, pleasure, performance, or recovering from a health concern or trauma? As an AASECT Certified sex therapist, I work with couples and individuals who are dissatisfied with their sexual functioning or the quality and frequency of their sexual relationships. I specialize in intimacy issues for the relationship, as well as sexual dysfunctions and individual understanding of one's own sexual history and preferences.

Infidelity And Divorce Recovery
Learning your partner had an affair can be devastating. Whether it was physical or emotional cheating, many relationships do survive if the affair ends and both partners work to rebuild trust and connection. I offer ambivalence therapy for individuals who are unsure they want to stay together and evidence-based recovery therapy for couples who seek to strengthen their relationship post-affair. For clients dealing with an existing separation or divorce, I provide tools to better navigate this transition, feel empowered, and conquer loneliness to bounce-back from a difficult break up.
