Affinity Counseling Group provides individual and couples therapy for women, men, couples, LGBTQ and gender-diverse adolescents and adults.
Our practice utilizes a structured, evidence-based approach and involves encouraging clients to identify and build upon their strengths to create positive changes in their lives. Common goals for therapy include restoring healthy sexuality and relationships, alleviating symptoms of depression and anxiety, increasing coping and communication skills, healing past trauma or loss, and transforming unproductive patterns into healthier life choices, emotions, and behaviors.
As a licensed professional counselor and sex therapist, my primary focus and expertise is relationship therapy for individuals and couples including:
- Romantic concerns and identity exploration
- Intimacy and sexual health
- Infidelity and divorce recovery
However, I also assist clients in reducing negative symptoms related to relationships, feelings, or difficult life transitions which may include:
- Self-Esteem and Growth
- Anxiety and Depression
- Peer Relationships
- Difficult Break-ups
- Family conflict
- Cross-cultural relationships
- Divorce / Contemplating Divorce
- Life Transitions
- Stress Management and Coping
- Assertiveness Skills
- Gay / Lesbian / Bisexual / Transgender Issues
- Marital Counseling and Pre-marital Counseling
My treatment approach is based primary on cognitive – behavioral therapy. This includes challenging expectations and self-talk and investigating patterns to help you better understand yourself, determine your goals, and help to achieve them. I focus on educating the client or couple, utilizing their strengths and providing techniques to overcome existing conflicts. My goal is not to diagnose you but to improve your life and your relationships while developing skills to manage future concerns independently.
